ANOTHER OF THE MANY ADVENTURES OF PASS PATROL

CRAZY OUTLAW

“Hey Outlaw,” Blue Moon called over the C.B.  “You’re crazy!”

I was leading the way up a narrow ledge trail toward something called Jones Mountain.  I was driving one of Ford’s Flareside Pickup Trucks which was just a little too wide for a section of the trail that had been covered with some fallen rock.  To get through, I simply drove one side of the pickup up on the wall and centered the other side in the trail.  “See,” I said calmly.  “Lots of room!”

“Wow!” Shutterbug shouted over the C.B.  “This is the best trail I’ve ever been on.”

Blue Moon wasn’t so sure.  “We’re gonna call this trail, “’Crazy Outlaw Trail’, he giggled.

“I can’t watch,” Miss Blue groaned as she disappeared in the back seat of the Bronco.

“Holy cow!” Rattler exclaimed!  “I didn’t know that could be done!”

“You guys need a few more years of experience before you try it,” I warned.  “Wait here while I check up ahead to see if the trail goes anywhere.”

We were in the San Juan Mountains and into the second day of our 4Wheeling trip.
